Community Ministries

“Love is creative and redemptive. Love builds up and unites; hate tears down and destroys. "

-Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
At Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, we are committed to being an active part of our broader community, believing that it is about far more than growing the church membership.  It is about sharing the goodness of God in the communities where we live, work and play.  It is about trusting that God calls us to move beyond the walls of our church building to love the neighbors God calls us to serve.  And, yes, it is about making sure our building can be used to build relationships, feed the body and the soul, and provide a space of sanctuary, rest, love, and belonging for all.

Free Community Dinner

Everyone is invited to join us at the church on the first Wednesday of every month for a FREE community dinner.  We being serving at 5:00pm, and the dinner goes until 6:30.  The menu changes each month, but the atmosphere of community, togetherness, and grace only grows!  Whether you're coming by yourself or with family and friends, there's room for you, and we'll be so glad to see you!  While we'd love to have you stay to eat, we understand that sometimes schedules don't allow for that, and so we're happy to provide you with take outs - for yourself and/or others.

Community Outreach & Engagement Team

Our Community Outreach & Engagement Team here at GBUMC is a small group of creative people who work together as a think tank for ways we can engage our broader community here in Grand Blanc.   Our goal is to help our church family engage the community in service, in acts of mercy and compassion, and relationship building.  And so, whether we're at the Grand Blanc Community Expo, the Farmer's Market, passing out hotdogs, or hosting a Trunk-or-Tr'Easter in the Spring, we're out there...and we can't wait to meet you!

If you're interested in being a part of this think-tank team, or if you have ideas for us, please know that you're always  welcome.

"Common Grace" Outreach

"Common Grace" is our 9:00am Sunday worship music group.  Lead by Gary Brandt, they not only sing in worship, but share their music and message of God's love in the community, whether at a senior living center, nursing homes, or at Crossroads Village in Flint.  With a mixture of contemporary Christian music, original songs of faith, and brief words of scripture and hope, the program they share is a wonderful gift!

If you are interested in having Common Grace sing at your community function, please reach out and let us know.
