Go therefore and make disciples of all nations
Matthew 28:19
"As United Methodists, we seek to live lovingly and justly as servants of Jesus Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed, being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel."1 At Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, we seek to do this in our own communities, as well as throughout our global community, partnering with effective and faithful missions and ministries that are a part of this incredible mission. We do this both financially and in hands-on ways with the remarkable support and generosity of the congregation.

Blessing Bag Ministry
The “Blessing Bag” project is a program of Grand Blanc United Methodist Church that aims to provide tangible resources (i.e. personal care items) and relational resources (i.e. community resource list, prayer card, etc.) for our neighbors in Grand Blanc and the broader Genesee County community who are experiencing chronic or acute housing and/or food insecurity. While we recognize that this program is not a permanent solution for those experiencing these circumstances, it is our hope that the “Blessing Bags” can be a source of relief, a message of Christian love and compassion, as well as a meaningful form of engagement between GBUMC and marginalized populations in our community.
Anyone and everyone are encouraged to keep a Blessing Bag with them in their car so that when an opportunity arises to share it with someone in need arises, they can do so. Blessing Bag supplies are also available at the church at all times for those who might need particular items.

This is an intergenerational Mission Trip, and so adult volunteer/leaders are welcome to participate, as well. As we prepare for our ASP mission trip, there are mandatory meetings and training sessions to make sure that everyone's experience is meaningful and safe.
